Sarlen’s twin rapiers were steel, just like everyone else’s. The other half, she performed acts of nimble dexterity that made it seem her spine was truly made of leather. As a Mastermind, Tisgyn spent half her time with her nose buried in one of her leather-bound books. It was in her first year of adventuring that Tisgyn picked up the name “Leatherspine.” She laughed when she first heard it first, but later admitted it was a good fit. More descriptive names can also be effective. By sticking to names with softer sounds and fewer open vowels, we can achieve subtle, roguish-sounding names. Usually, these people are slender-framed, flexible, and coordinated, moving with a casual grace from years of training. Performers, gymnasts, acrobats, and athletes are a pretty close approximation of the 5e Rogue in the real world. An Arcane Trickster’s name might hint at magical abilities, while a Mastermind’s might suggest hours spent in study and thought. Some subclasses benefit from further linguistic tweaks. Choosing a name that hints at some typically roguish ability or suitably shadowy background often works for a Rogue. There’s also a dark, edgy feel to characters who like to hide in the shadows. An affinity for stealth, dexterity, quick wits, and nimble hands all spring to mind when we think about this sneaky class. But a handful of things ring true for just about every great Rogue. There’s a ton of variety once you consider all the different subclasses, feats, backgrounds, and races.

In my experience, this one isn't so great for helping out a friend remotely (especially if they're not tech-savvy), but it is excellent for accessing my own computer. There's also an app for iOS, Android, Chrome OS, FreeBSD, and Raspberry Pi.Ĭhrome Remote Desktop is an extension for the Chrome browser that lets you set up a computer for remote access. It runs on macOS, Linux, and Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, and XP. The program auto-updates and can enter full-screen mode, create a balance between quality and speed of the connection, transfer files and sound, sync the clipboard, record the remote session, run keyboard shortcuts, take screenshots of the remote computer, and restart the host computer. If unattended access is set up, the client doesn't need to wait for the host to accept the connection. You can also connect to the host from AnyDesk's web client. On another computer, run AnyDesk and then enter the host's Remote Desk ID or alias in the Remote Address section of the program, and wait for the host to accept the connection. When the client connects, the host will be asked to allow or disallow the connection and can also control permissions, like to allow sound, clipboard use, and the ability to block the host's keyboard/mouse control. Launch it on the PC you want to connect to and record the 9-digit number, or custom alias if one is set up. While I have used it for remote troubleshooting, similar to DWService, I prefer AnyDesk for remote access into my own computer when I'm away (i.e., unattended access). Android users can install the client app.ĪnyDesk is a remote desktop program that you can run portably or install like a regular program. It also works through a mobile web browser. The DWAgent tool for the host can be installed on several operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS. They let you create all sorts of text-based files browse through the file system to make, edit, or remove files, and upload or download files to and from the host run Command Prompt commands view basic system information, shut down tasks, and start or turn off services. The full list of tools you have access to as the client are Files and Folders, Text editor, Log watch, Resources, Screen, and Shell. Unlike some remote access programs, you don't have to open the screen sharing tool to do things like send/receive files or run commands. Give the code to the host during the program installation.ĭWService has a handful of tools. Make a user account through the link below (it's totally free), and then add a new agent to your account. If the host installed the program, the setup procedure is a little more involved. Log in through the link below and enter the code and password that shows on the host's DWAgent program window. The client has it easy if the host uses the on-demand option. Otherwise, enter the code and provided by the client so that they can have always-on access to the host computer. If you choose the run option instead of the install option, you're given a user code and password that the client needs to reach the computer. The host has two options: download the DWAgent, and then run it for on-demand, one-time access (great for tech support), or install it for permanent remote access (ideal if it's your own computer). I list it as #1 for two reasons: it's incredibly easy to use for both myself and the people on the other end of the session, and it has useful tools I need to identify and fix problems remotely. This is the tool I used the last several times I remoted into a family member's computer for remote tech support. The host installs or temporarily runs the program, and the client logs in via any web browser to run commands, control the screen, or control files and folders. Limited maximum bandwidth for free users.ĭWService is a free and open-source project that truly simplifies remote access. With that out of the way, let’s take a look at our list of the top 13 proxy sites for this year. In other words, VPNs are superior tools, no matter how we compare the two. They also can’t match the quality of VPN servers, which leads to frequent downtimes. It can also ruin your chances of beating censorship in China or other restrictive countries.Īpart from this, proxy sites are much more prone to IP leaks, which defeats the purpose of using them in the first place. This can prevent you from unblocking Netflix US, for example. Unlike VPNs, proxy sites usually have a very limited number of servers. Very user-friendly and works with Netflix and torrents. We recommend going with Surfshark, which is the fastest and most secure VPN out there. That’s why you should pick a VPN that can match the speed of a proxy while encrypting your traffic. Not to mention that hackers can breach their free proxy servers and use your information to commit identity theft.Īpart from this, even the best proxy sites will limit your bandwidth, serve you ads, and offer little to no security. They’ll hand this info to the government if ordered to do so. So your IP may be hidden from the website you’re visiting but not from the proxy provider. However, many of them will record your identity and activity and sell your info to the highest bidder. There are paid and free proxy sites out there. Proxy sites work in a similar way to a VPN: they’ll route your traffic through their own servers, hiding your IP and making you anonymous in the process. Read our full guide below to learn all about the best proxy sites we tested and how they compare to modern VPNs. Our team tested dozens of proxy websites looking for the safest and most functional options. It’s just important that you know exactly what you’re getting (and what you’re missing). Proxies offer a mere fraction of this utility (just IP spoofing), but that might be enough for your personal needs. VPNs also encrypt your traffic and let you access sites and services that might be blocked in your country. We always recommend using a VPN to hide your IP and stay completely anonymous. That is why you should consider using one of the best proxy sites in the market or, better yet, a VPN service. Everyone from your ISP to hackers and the authorities will know who you are and what you’re doing online. Going online without masking your IP address is like walking around with your social security number written on your forehead. Only a good VPN like Surfshark will change your IP without exposing your information or heavily limiting your connection speed. Perhaps most importantly, no proxy site can guarantee 100% safety and anonymity. There are many more options, all of them with their advantages and disadvantages.
This primarily reflects the release of impairment provisions which won’t be repeated in 2022, driven by the improving economic outlook and resilient customer lending portfolios. Credit impairment charges have decreased significantly to £0.1m (2020: £164.0 million). This primarily reflects lower restructuring and branch transformation costs, a significantly lower remediation charge relating to the treatment of some customers in arrears, and lower migration related income. The net impact of one-off items represented a cost of £25.1 million in 2021 (2020: £107.7 million). We have continued to simplify the business with operating expenses, reported on a management basis, decreasing £30.4 million (-3.7%) to £797.3 million, reflecting lower resource and property costs and a more normalised level of investment spend.A lower proportion of unsecured balances is the primary driver of a 0.03% reduction of TSB’s Net Interest Margin to 2.44%. This reflects core mortgage balance growth and higher current account income. This has been a successful year for TSB.TSB reports statutory profit before tax of £157.5 million Financial Results for the full year 2021: In addition, we covered how using the cross-entropy loss, in conjunction with the softmax activation, yields a simple gradient expression in backpropagation.Īs a next step, you may try spinning up a simple image classification model using softmax activation and cross-entropy loss function. You’ve learned to implement both the binary and categorical cross-entropy losses from scratch in Python. They impose a penalty on predictions that are significantly different from the true value. In this tutorial, you’ve learned how binary and categorical cross-entropy losses work. l o g ( p ( s ) ) H(\textbf = p_i - t_i ⟹ ∂ z i ∂ L = p i − t i Īs seen above, the gradient works out to the difference between the predicted and true probability values. Given a true distribution t and a predicted distribution p, the cross entropy between them is given by the following equation. In the context of information theory, the cross entropy between two discrete probability distributions is related to KL divergence, a metric that captures how close the two distributions are. As the loss function’s derivative drives the gradient descent algorithm, we’ll learn to compute the derivative of the cross-entropy loss function.īefore we proceed to learn about cross-entropy loss, it’d be helpful to review the definition of cross entropy. We’ll learn how to interpret cross-entropy loss and implement it in Python. In this tutorial, we’ll go over binary and categorical cross-entropy losses, used for binary and multiclass classification, respectively. When training a classifier neural network, minimizing the cross-entropy loss during training is equivalent to helping the model learn to predict the correct labels with higher confidence. While accuracy tells the model whether or not a particular prediction is correct, cross-entropy loss gives information on how correct a particular prediction is. In such problems, you need metrics beyond accuracy. In classification problems, the model predicts the class label of an input. The goal of optimization is to find those parameters that minimize the loss function: the lower the loss, the better the model. It is used when node activations can be understood as representing the probability. In this process, there’s a loss function that tells the network how good or bad its current prediction is. Cross-entropy loss is a widely used alternative for the squared error. Have you ever wondered what happens under the hood when you train a neural network? You’ll run the gradient descent optimization algorithm to find the optimal parameters (weights and biases) of the network. In later episodes of Seasons 5 and 6, Joe normally does not draw clues in his notebook and instead watches magically animated versions of the clues appear. He owns a Handy Dandy Notebook similar to Steve's, but it is larger and shaped like the Thinking Chair. His favorite toy is a stuffed duck named Boris. He is Steve's younger, taller brother and his Blue's Clues-playing apprentice who stays at the Blue's Clues house after Steve leaves for college. Joe (played by Donovan Patton) is the host of the show's fifth and sixth seasons. He is the one that most countries dubbed or replaced (there are three countries known for Steve's replacement, first in the UK, where British TV personality Kevin Duala got the role, second in Portugal, third in Korea). In the reboot series Blue's Clues & You!, Steve has since graduated and now runs the Blueprints Detective Agency (BDA) and appears as a recurring character. Years after the original series, a background civilian for the 2009 computer-animated film Up was allegedly created after himself, this time in CGI animation, seen watching Carl's house being lifted by balloons, taking flight from town towards the beginning of the film. There, he becomes the varsity captain for the hopscotch team at his college as revealed in the 100th episode special. At the end of the fourth season, Steve becomes the mentor to his younger brother, Joe, because he teaches him to play "Blue's Clues" in the episode "Joe Gets a Clue" After that, leaves for college on a hopscotch scholarship and leaves Joe to take care of his house and Blue. He owns a stuffed anteater named Horace, which indicates that anteaters are also his favorite animal. His favorite time of the day is mail time when he receives a letter from Mailbox. Within the first two seasons (some in the second), he would give out wrong and silly answers during thinking time, much to Blue's dismay, even in "Blue's Big Musical", "Blue's Big Costume Party", and "Blocks". When he finishes a game of Blue's Clues, he sits in a giant red armchair called the Thinking Chair and comes up with possible solutions to Blue's puzzles. Whenever he finds a clue, he draws it on a pocket-sized pad of paper called the Handy Dandy Notebook. He's always excited and prepared to play Blue's Clues, but can almost never find clues himself and relies on the viewer to help locate them. He's intelligent, fun, friendly, helpful, and sympathetic but sometimes clumsy, wild, impulsive, and forgetful. He loves anything that has a similar pattern.
If you have the budget to upgrade, then the Arc’teryx Fission SV Gloves are for you because of their highest-quality materials (PrimaLoft Silver and Gold insulation, additional OctaLoft breathable and wicking insulation, Fortius™ 1.0 softshell material for flexibility, double-layer goat leather palms for increased durability, and the top-ranking water-proof/breathable Gore-tex) and Arc’teryx’s incredible warranty program. This is the warmest glove in our guide (except for heated gloves, which get a boost from a rechargeable battery pack-see below).Īrc’teryx is a company known for its quality, so it’s no wonder that these leather gloves come as highly recommended as they do with that kind of price tag. The Fission is also one of our favorites in our Best Ski Gloves guide because of its warmth-it’s great for sub-zero skiing, as well as sub-zero winter hiking, snowshoing, mountaineering, cutting your Christmas tree, or shoveling snow in a Nor’Easter. With an additional waterproof Gore-Tex insert, a supple goat leather palm, and a hearty gauntlet, this is one heck of a glove to take on winter. This was also helpful while lacing up winter boots, an especially dreaded task in the morning. These gloves were meant to be as dexterous as they are warm, because what’s the point of gloves if you can’t use your hands? We found this especially useful for setting up a 4-Season Tent, where stakes and guylines require fingers that can move. The soft lining also wicks away moisture to make sure your digits stay dry. The Etips tend to run large, so consult the sizing chart before you buy! They easily fit in the pocket on our running hydration vest as well as in some of our smaller hiking fanny packs.Ī close runner-up was the Ozero Thermal -30☏ Suede Winter Gloves, but many reviews said that they were overkill for all but the coldest hikes, and they were often too bulky to be comfortable while running. They’re lightweight and compressible, so we think they work well for backpacking, running, cycling, where space may be at a premium. We also like the zipper, which makes it easier to look at our Hiking Watch or Running watch, which is often a challenge with most winter gloves. That’s a better option if your gloves must be windproof and waterproof.īut for most uses and most winter scenarios, the North Face E-Tip Denali are a lightweight and packable option that gives the warmth you need. One thing we like is since they are made from inherently breathable materials, these gloves do best in colder temperatures when used during high-output activities (such as running or hiking).Īll five fingers are touchscreen compatible-the touchscreen conductivity is woven into the gloves, so rather than sporting obvious finger pads, they look like normal gloves.Īs fleece-like gloves, they aren’t what we’d recommend for extreme cold-see our Upgrade Extreme Cold winner for a better option. Reviewers from Ireland, Michigan, and Colorado all praised the Denali Etip Gloves as great for mild to moderate winters. They’re warm and breathable, but not meant for extremely cold weather. The North Face Denali Etip Gloves are mid-weight gloves made from fully recycled materials: Polyester (shell), nylon (back-of-hand overlay, polyester brushed tricot (palm lining), and TKA 100 polyester fleece (back-of-hand lining). The growth in electric car sales took place in the context of globally contracting car markets: total car sales in 2022 dipped by 3% relative to 2021. Between August 2022 and March 2023, major EV and battery makers announced cumulative post-IRA investments of USD 52 billion in North American EV supply chains, of which 50% is for battery manufacturing, and about 20% each for battery components and EV manufacturing.ġ NEVs (China) include BEVs, PHEVs and fuel-cell electric vehicles.Įlectric car sales saw another record year in 2022, achieving a 14% sales share, despite supply chain disruptions, macro-economic and geopolitical uncertainty, and high commodity and energy prices. In the United States, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) has triggered a rush by global electromobility companies to expand US manufacturing operations. The European Union adopted new CO 2 standards for cars and vans in March 2023, which require a 55% and 50% reduction in emissions of new cars and vans by 2030 (compared to 2021), and 100% for both by 2035.The share of electric cars in total domestic car sales reached 29% in China in 2022, up from 16% in 2021, thereby achieving the 2025 national target of a 20% sales share for so-called new energy vehicles (NEVs) 1 well in advance. China accounted for nearly 60% of all new electric car registrations globally in 2022.Norway continues to lead in rates of electric vehicle (EV) deployment, with the share of electric car sales reaching 88% in 2022.Global EV Outlook 2023: Trends in light-duty vehicles circle-arrowĬountries and regions making notable progress to advance electric cars include: National policies and incentives will help bolster sales, while a return to the exceptionally high oil prices seen last year could further motivate prospective buyers.īased on current trends, the rollout of electric vehicles is set to avoid the need for 5 million barrels of oil a day by 2030. As a result, electric cars could account for 18% of total car sales across the full calendar year. We currently expect to see 14 million in sales by the end of 2023, representing a 35% year-on-year increase with new purchases accelerating in the second half of this year. Over 2.3 million electric cars were sold in the first quarter, about 25% more than in the same period last year. The share of electric cars in total sales has more than tripled in three years, from around 4% in 2020 to 14% in 2022.ĮV sales are expected to continue strongly through 2023. Electric car markets are seeing exponential growth as sales exceeded 10 million in 2022. They may not seem difficult to you because either a) you’re smarter than I am or b) you are seeing the final resolution of several tests and failures or c) both of the above. I’m specifically going to focus on some of the customizations that are lesser known or were difficult to grasp. (Contrast that with having to leave a voicemail and email to get tech support for Tableau. I have to say I was very surprised I was able to chat with someone on a Saturday afternoon. But there are several resources I found really helpful: I can’t possibly teach you everything you need to know about Mint in this post. (You’ll see that it’s possible to make it work that way though.) But Mint wasn’t built to function that way. I’m partial to the envelope system of budgeting and actually used envelopes when I was in college to manage my money.(I know, adulting sucks, and life is unfair.) My adult kids contribute to my whopping $500+/month cell phone bill and pay for any data overages.Other fixed expenses, like my office rental, accountant fees, and online services, I wanted left out. I wanted to cherry pick which business expenses I wanted to include in my personal budget (like restaurants, coffee shops, and juice bars) because my spending in these categories was pretty out of control.I had several challenges going into this project that I had to wrestle through: So if you’re looking for a post about marketing data check back! There will be plenty more. If I can flatten that learning curve for you, great! But I was eventually able to corral it to work really well. I probably read at least 20 different posts, more help threads, and watched a ton of videos. But any time I learn something that’s tough to grasp, I experience this compulsion share it in hopes maybe someone else won’t have such a difficult time. One thing I wasn’t prepared for was just how much I’d need to customize it to satisfy my needs. Mint required a significant amount of customizing and hacking for me to benefit from it. Partly because I’ve used it before and many of my accounts would already be in there, partly because they added a new feature since I used it last that I hoped would allow me to be my proactive in my spending, and - if we’re being honest here - partly because it’s FREE. After doing an excessive amount of research I decided I would use Mint. But last month I put on my big girl pants and decided I was going to get on a budget. Data I DON’T love so much is my own financial data. If you’ve spent more than a NY minute on my site looking at my beste Bitcoin Wallet rants, you’ll know I love data.
